about

It's been a month since our last major album releases of 2019 – October saw music from a new face in Meara O'Reilly's "Hockets for Two Voices", and an ambitious opera by one of our fearless leaders, David Lang, with "anatomy theater". In this space between new releases, we wanted to thank you, our subscribers, for your continued support of Cantaloupe Music year round! Here are a couple of gems recently uncovered in the vault of Bang on a Can HQ – two live board recordings of Wilco percussionist and composer Glenn Kotche performing with All-Stars percussionist David Cossin on some fierce reimaginations of two Steve Reich classics.

Long before his Cantaloupe debut with "Adventureland" in 2014, Kotche performed these works and more alongside Bang on a Can in 2008. Since we're all still in the mood for hockets, enjoy the antiphonally-staged drumkit arrangement of "Music for Pieces of Wood", and Kotche's own variations on the perennially remix-ready "Clapping Music".
